Dropbox - Saved My Day!!

Ever had one of those moments when you just knew you lost everything on your computer? I had one of those moments yesterday! My computer would not boot, and it kept giving me error messages. When it finally came to life, I decided to move some of my documents off of there. Unfortunately, my external hard drive was at home (of course!). I recently tried an application called "Dropbox". You create an account and anything you place in there is available from any computer you have Dropbox installed on. After downloading it, I was quickly able to drag and drop photos, video, and documents into it. Saved! Dropbox apps are available for iPads, iPods, and Androids. Now I have access to my items from any computer and my phone.

Safe Share TV, Showing YouTube Videos Safely

REPOST from other blog!

Since YouTube is more accessible at school, many teachers are using it to enhance their classroom instruction. Though a powerful tool, it comes with a related video list and comments that the teacher may not want to display. Safe Share TV eliminates both of these with ease. Simply paste your YouTube URL into SafeShare.TV and it generates a "Safe Link" URL.

Another great option of using SafeShare.TV is the ability to make a smaller clip of the video. This is great for educators or professionals that only want a segment of the original video. There are a few other options for showing a YouTube video without some of the related videos and comments:

New Blog Site!

Welcome to my new blog site! I am excited about the opportunity to better organize and share materials through this blog. Each month, when I visit campuses, there never seems to be enough time to share everything I would like with the teachers. This site will provide a home for my handouts, links, videos, and additional information. Be sure and check back frequently or better yet add me to your reader!

Wondering about the name of my new blog? Well, I am a "peace" maker! I don't like dissension and new technologies seem to stress teachers out. So, my job allows me to help the teachers ease into their new roles as techies. I "love" my job and the teachers I get to work with. I get out of bed in the mornings and enjoy coming to work. Finally, "technology" is primarily what this blog will be about! Therefore, it all seemed fitting for my new blog title!
